It's 2024. It's time to learn how to do your makeup and get rid of the dry, cakey, and patchy makeup bases.
The first step to a flawless base is skin care. This includes any serums, moisturizers, and sunscreen. An affordable moisturizer I recommend is the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream with Hyaluronic Acid for Balanced to Dry Skin. That can be found anywhere, from Ulta to a drug store. And for sunscreen, I recommend Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40. And your serums can range from niacinamide serums to hylaronic acid serums.
Once your skin is moisturized and prepped, it's time to prime the skin. Some of my favorite primers are the ELF Power Grip Primer and the Urban Decay All Nighter Primer. Both of these primers and gripping primers make sure your makeup is stuck to your face and lasts all night. But if you have oily skin, I recommend the matte putty primer from ELF, and if you have textured skin, I recommend the poreless primer from ELF as well.
For foundation and concealer, some of my favorites that I recommend are the Fenty Beauty EAZE DROP BLURRING SKINTINT and ELF Halo Glow for foundation, and for concealer, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and the Fenty Beauty PRO FILT'R INSTANT RETOUCH CONCEALER.
Now for blush, bronzer, and contour. All of these products are from drugstores. They're the Juvias Place Blushed Liquid Blush, ELF. Putty Bronzer, ELF Halo GlowContour Beauty Wand, ELFPrimer, Infused Powder Blush, and Juvias Place Bronzer PowderDuO.
Lastly, for the finishing touches of the makeup, there is setting powder, setting spray, highlighter, and a cute lip combo. Using these products in this specific order can guarantee that you will have a smooth, flawless base.
