Throughout the years there have been many designs women have implemented when it comes to prom.
In the 90s women would wear silk and velvet long dresses to prom, this made them classy and formal, it was the look every girl was going for. Women would put their hair in an updo with a slick piece to the side to finish their prom look.
The early 2000s prom looks changed a bit, we went more for off-the-shoulder silk dresses, some may have had a little bit of detailing but silk dresses were the go-to look, women went with different styles this year, you had half up and half down hairstyles, buns, braids into buns, and many forms of updos.
2015 is when most women start to wear two-piece sets to prom, especially in the color burgundy. Burgundy and dark colors like red, purple, and blue. were the color of this era, in these two-piece sets you would fit pieces of gold sequence or maybe even silver. Most women wore their hair half up and half down twist. For their make up they had highlighter, mascara, and lipstick and this really completed their look.
Today, we wear long fishtail dresses, with many different sequences and glitter, everyone really just goes with the colors and hairstyle they feel comfortable with and they don’t all try to have similar looks, this year pops out the most because everyone is being who they are and showing it off, you have colors up to orange, yellow, pinks, black, silver, reds, you name it honestly. Women now style their hair in many different forms, if it’s a bun, wig, braids, half up half down, so many styles to choose from. they go with many different kinds of makeup looks that not only make them pop but their outfits pop.
